Top 5 Reasons Why a Home Business Fails

Top 5 Reasons why your Home Business is Failing...

1. Your phone skills are non-existant, unprofessional, uncomfortable at best. Practice, Practice, Practice. Communication is key to your survival. Fix your answering machine. "Dude, I'm not home... you know what to do" is unprofessional and they won't leave their number! Try this... "I'm sorry, I am most likely on the other line with another customer, as you can imagine, my phone is ringing non-stop with people wanting to know about my coffee business, but if you leave your name and number, I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Have yourself a Coffee-Licious day"

2. Your self image in the way you dress says it all. Men, if you are wearing a suit with dress shoes, (shine your shoes) just ask the women, they look. Your clothes are un-ironed, perhaps you forgot to take a shower this week, and well, when you present yourself as a Million Dollar Business person ask yourself would you do business with you. I think not. Your personal presentation of image is everything. Although people will not see you in person online, you still need a nice photo, good looking web presence and professional image. Present yourself as the leader of your business and you will become the leader.

3. Become the Expert! Know your business, study the comp plan inside and out and be a product of the product. If you can not even describe how you like the products personally, how in the world are people going to get a sense of what to expect? And better yet, if you are not using your own products, people will question why they should use them or even begin to wonder why you are not. Fitness trainers are most likely fit and in good shape. Dog Trainers are expected to own well-behaved dogs, and your business is the same.

4. Get rid of the "What's in it for me attitude"... You will fail big time. People want to do business with people who care about them. It's not about you, it's about your customer. What do you have that can help them or benefit their needs. Why should they do business with you rather than the other guy? Little things like returning phone calls, returning an email, reminding them of a training call, always on time and remembering details from previous conversions will make a huge difference in your business. You be the engager...don't let your customer be the person who engages you. Respect your time... don't let your customer tell your their life story for an hour, it's great to be that trustworthy, but be polite and say something like: "I'd love to hear your life story someday, but I only have 15 minutes before my next meeting and I want to help you the best I can during that time.

5. Does Your Business Run You? Successful Business Owners get things done and have a do whatever it takes attitude. 9-5 hours are unheard of when you own your own business. I routinely have meetings at 11pm 12pm 1am all the time with my business partners, and guess what, that’s why I'm still in business. Your business will not run on auto-pilot, you are the boss and you have to run it. That's part of the problem with home businesses... most people are so used to working for someone else, that they think when they start a home business, there will be someone there to tell them what to do next. Not so... you are in charge... it's a big load on your shoulders, but you can do it and there are plenty of people out there like Scott OBrien that will keep pushing you and motivating you to keep climbing the ladder!

There you go, the Top 5 reasons why home businesses fail! I encourage your comments and feedback.

Become the Professional in your Business

Do You Know What You’re Talking About?

There are two ways to build your business - "Pretend to Know or KNOW It!"

If you know your business (and everything related to your business) then you are valuable to your audience, whether that’s one person or 150,000 people. You will draw crowds of people because they want to learn from you. You in turn feel valuable and are valuable which is what gives you confidence.

Completely let go of the idea that your splendid personality is what causes people to listen to you and join your business. It is not - it helps, but it is not the reason. For people to follow you - you’ve got to know your stuff.

You will be valuable as a presenter because you know what you’re talking about, and that is the only legitimate reason that causes people to listen and follow you.

So, as rapidly as you can, learn your business. Don’t make excuses that you don’t know the business by claiming that you’re new! I’ve met people who tell me that they’re new; I ask them how long they’ve been in the business and they tell me three years. This is not new! A new person is someone who has been involved under a week or two.

There’s so much you will benefit by knowing your business in network marketing. So, don’t delay learning.

On this month’s upcoming training call I’ll share with you the things I feel you MUST know in order to effectively “unconfuse” your prospects - so please join me.

You see, for you to be valuable to prospects, you want to be able to unconfuse people. The first step in un-confusing people as a presenter is for you to be unconfused! This industry has way too much of “the confused leading the confused.”

If there is such a thing as “the best way to sell,” I’d say it would be named “The unconfuse the customer method.” Obviously, I just made this up right now - it’s not something that has been written about - not that I’m aware of, anyway.

You see, based on the current times we live in, there is actually too much information and not enough time to evaluate it. Evaluation means to determine something’s value or worth. If a person wants to know about a subject today, there’s no problem in finding information about it - but it’s knowing how to determine the most important thing or things about that subject that is missing today.

Read closely the following words because most people miss this:

Someone unfamiliar with something can not easily locate and discern what is important about a subject from what is unimportant. Your value to a prospect is your ability to do this. Never forget this.

So you could say that a person “unfamiliar” with a subject is a confused person and most of the time doesn’t even know what they are confused about. Here’s the problem - a confused person puts off buying your product or service; a confused person puts off joining your company.

You should not ask a person to make a decision on something until you’ve unconfused them.

A person’s ability to make a confident decision is based on there not being any confusion.

Someone who knows what they’re talking about can swiftly see how to unconfuse their prospect because they know all aspects and how they fit into the prospect’s life. They know what to present and when to present it.

In contrast, someone who is pretending to know what they’re talking about will increase the prospect’s confusion because they’re trying to hide the fact that they don’t know all - so they use big words to try to SOUND like they know what they’re talking about - but they really don’t. This increases the prospect’s confusion.

In summary, when you know what you’re talking about, you are a professional. Therefore you must know the subjects that make up your business. That is why it is so important to plug into the training. The Opportunity calls and the Compensation calls are there to not only inform new prospects but to help us familiarize ourselves with the whole spectrum of HOW TO DO YOUR BUSINESS PROPERLY.

We do not want to confuse our prospects so we have to unconfuse ourselves first so we can propertly inform the people we meet. In other words do our due dilligence to perfect ourselves. Our system is so easy that it does not take long to be professional but it does take some time and effort on your part.

Lets become PROFESSIONALS.

Easiest Way to Become a Top 5% Performer in Network Marketing?

Just Received an Email from Joan Maxymuik and thought it was worth sharing...

Have you ever heard of the 80/20 rule?
You probably have... it's a much-talked-about concept in business that 80% of your sales come from 20% of your salespeople.

...but have you heard of the 95/5 rule?

Often in sales organizations, the Top 5% performers outsell and make as much money as the other 95% combined.

So that begs the question...

QUESTION: What's the easiest way to become a Top 5% Performer in Network Marketing?

ANSWER: Recruit a Top 5% performer from a different industry!

...Easy for You to Say, Tim!

Now I realize you may be saying to yourself. "Yeah, right!"

If you're a person making $40,000 a year, with a regular day job, and you're just getting started with Network Marketing...and you're barely making a dime...

...then how the heck are you supposed to get up the nerve to approach a successful businessperson / professional with your opportunity?

I mean, people who are Top 5% performers in any industry typically make a lot of money already, they're very busy, and can be intimidating to approach. Right?

To answer this dilemma, I thought it would be helpful for you to read a comment I received recently from a Successful Networker who herself was a Top 5% performer in the corporate world. Here are her comments about how she recruits other successful people. My comments follow.

***NIECIE'S COMMENTS***

"The "Brilliant Compensation" presentation has really helped my network marketing business. I recently resigned from a six-figure income position with a Fortune 50 company. I am a professional. All of my contacts are professionals.

"Brilliant Compensation" helps to bring credibility to the industry. I'm not the "hype" type. I'm more into education and knowledge. Since I come from executive management in Corporate America, I tend to present to people like me!

Brilliant Compensation explains the business model in Corporate America jargon. It explains the business. People understand these words. It also immediately dispels the pyramid myth and the 'where does the money come from question'. One of the biggest benefits for me too is that it allows me to cross the racial barrier. There are white professional males in the presentation. Since I am an African American female, it allows a diverse group of people the ability to "hear" me." Thanks, Niecie

***MY RESPONSE***

Niecie's comments remind me that one of the biggest rules to remember when approaching successful people is this - it's not about YOU. You are just the messenger.

Any Top 95% Performer has gotten to where they are by educating themselves, and more importantly - working hard to implement what they've learned in their industry.

So, when looking at your opportunity, any top performer will not be looking at you...they will be considering the merits of what you're offering. They will want to make an educated business decision based on facts, not hype.

Now, it's true, among businesspeople and professionals; there are still a lot of negative pre-conceived notions about Network Marketing. And that's exactly why I created the Brilliant Compensation DVD.

Brilliant Compensation poses a completely logical, non-hyped explanation of the networking business model. To add credibility and very convincing content, the DVD also contains an interview with Dr. Charles W. King, who is the Professor of Marketing at the University of Illinois in Chicago, who also holds a Ph.D. in business from Harvard University.

Obviously, professionals are impressed with Dr. King's Harvard credentials, and when they hear his personal journey during the interview from skeptic to believer...and the years of non-biased due diligence he put into researching the industry...it makes a huge impression.

Here's another comment that I received recently that can shed some more light on how to recruit top performers:

***SHERI'S COMMENTS***

"I consider myself one of the most hardened people in the world, totally impervious to selling statements. Why? Because I write ads for a living, and so can see through almost any promotion. Well, I have to say this: your "Brilliant" film got my attention. I watched almost the WHOLE thing, and I NEVER do that (unless it's research for client). These people let you know their credentials (Harvard? Hmmm...must know something here). They are clear, and they gave one of the best and most succinct presentations of well-known marketing principles I have ever heard. - Sheri"

***MY RESPONSE***

Sheri is like most professionals and businesspeople. They get 'pitched' all the time, and after a while, they get a bit 'jaded'.

You may have heard that people "buy from their emotions and justify their purchase with logic". To a certain degree, that's true. But emotions are less a factor when recruiting a professional.

Think about it.

In a typical M.L.M presentation, there's a lot of focus on "make big money... work from home... only 10 hours a week... incredible lifestyle... etc. etc". These are tried-and-true emotional phrases that appeal to the average person.

However, while professionals are certainly not immune to emotional appeals, they are more likely to analyze and ask the "tough" questions about an opportunity.

Why? Because they know the correct questions to ask. They are going to question the legitimacy of a company, the product, the timing of product in the market, and especially the legitimacy of the marketing plan.

This is where the Brilliant Compensation DVD comes in perfectly. It speaks at the professional level and is completely devoid of hyped-up pitches. The path of logic doesn't insult their intelligence - in fact, it challenges it.

You'll be astounded at how even the most analytical business minds will NOT be able to refute the logic of the presentation. After watching it, their minds will be open and ready to see your opportunity with a newfound, unbiased understanding of the Network Marketing Industry.

Put the profound effect of Brilliant Compensation to work for you today. From now until February 15, I'm offering the lowest price I've EVER offered on this incredible objection-crushing tool - only $5.99 per DVD when you buy in packages of 8.

That's like buying 4 DVD's and getting 4 f.ree. Get the special offer at http://www.firstclassmlmtools.com

Committed to your success,
Tim Sales

5 Most Popular Internat Scams

Internet scams are by no means a recent phenomenon, but certain scams come back again and again. Here are five popular Internet scams that you should be on the lookout for.

1. Auction fraud. Sure I love cheap stuff on eBay as much as the next guy, but that '73 Collectors Edition Elvis Plate you're bidding on might not be that great of a deal. Fake and stolen merchandise aren't uncommon; even a Certificate of Authenticity doesn't necessarily mean anything. As eBay Scam Watch puts it, "If a seller is willing to misrepresent a fake item as real, then what is the big deal of throwing in an authentic looking certificate?" Another scam is the "shill" scam: A seller wanting to drive up the price on his auction may bid himself or have his friends bid, just to make you pay more. If you notice a repeat bidder on a seller's auction history, something's probably up. One more tip: Never wire money directly to a seller—it's almost impossible to retrieve the money if your purchase isn't shipped.

2. Bank fraud. "Phishing scams" are popular email scams. You'll get an email from your bank warning you that someone has been trying to access your account. They'll ask you to click on a link and verify your information, so the bank can take care of everything. No matter how legitimate the email looks, banks never email you asking for your information. The email is from a scammer hoping to empty your savings. The most recent scams play off government stimulus checks and EPPICards (for child support payments). Check the National Consumers League's Internet Fraud Watch for tips to avoid such scams. Similar schemes play off mortgage and credit card debt elimination, with the scammer offering to get rid of your debt for a small fee ($1000-2000) and power of attorney authorizing transactions on your behalf. When this information (and payment) is entrusted to them, you'll be left with nothing—except that mortgage or credit card bill they still haven't taken care of.

3. You've won a FREE Xbox fraud. Pretty much any time you're given something for nothing you should be wary. As charitable as Bill Gates is, Microsoft Corporation is a business and isn't going to give away thousands of free Xbox's. The email will read something like this: "Congratulations! You've won a FREE Xbox (or iPod, or TiVo, or some other fancy gadget)! All we need is your address and credit card information to pay the $5.99 shipping/handling!" Don't trust it, or you'll soon find your credit card maxed-out—and probably five or six more cards you never knew you had.

4. Charity fraud. Perhaps the most unfortunate scams in recent years have come in the wake of tragedies like 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, and the 2004 tsunami. When such tragedies occur, scammers take advantage of the fact that many people who are willing to help don't know where to donate their money. Never trust an email asking for charitable contributions before verifying the credibility of the organization. Never open attached images or files, as they may be viruses. And never provide them your personal information. If you want to help, you should preferably donate directly to big-name organizations like the Red Cross or Amnesty International, which always organize direct disaster relief funds.

5. Need Your Help Fraud. This one is to have you accept funds from a long lost loved one who has no one to leave a large inheritance too. If you supply them with your bank information... they will deposit the large sum of money into your account and all you have to do is pay them part of the inheritance back to them. Beware... once they have you bank information... they will clean your bank account out and be gone before you even know it. Never give anyone your Bank Information.

The best way to keep your finances secure is to never give out any personal information unless you're sure the site is reputable. If you think you've received a scam email, report it either to the Internet Crime Complaint Center, which also puts out yearly statistics on online fraud, or to the FBI's Cyber Investigation Team.

MIND Right. BODY Right. FEEL Right.

Social Bookmarking for Blog Advertising

Social Bookmarking for Blog Advertising

Social bookmarking sites are a growing trend and are becoming more popular each and every day. They are a great place to share your bookmarks with everyone and to be able to access them from any computer. They are also a great place that you can post a link to yourblog.

There are over fifty social bookmarking sites that you use to submit your link to your blog. Digg, Digo, BlueDot, and del.ico.us are just a few of them that are the most popular. Each site has its own guidelines and rules for posting links, so it's important that you want to read the rules that they have before you postany links.

Because social bookmarking isn't as targeted as other forms of advertising for your blog, you may find that it will take longer for it to be effective. But it's also a good way for you to get your blog noticed and it may bring in people who may not have found your blog another way.

Since social bookmarking doesn't always give you the opportunity to know who it is that has seen your site, or get to know other people, it's always a good idea to keep track of the visitors who say they were linked to your site through a bookmarking site. If the site allows you to put a comment, ask people to let you know on your blog that they found it through a social bookmarking site and which one. That will help you know how effective it is.

To Your Success...

Don't Give Up! I'll meet YOU at the Top!

Don't Give Up

I Kept myself educated and learned to train my mind... So that one day my greatness would shine... Too many people underestimated my ability and intellect... That was no problem for me because I conquered every obstacle met...

Now faced with hardships unbearable to face... Don't know how to rise again, so I just sat down and prayed... I knew that the day would come when I would surely fail... Never knew that I would sink this low and feel so frail...

After surviving all the years of hurt and pain... My strength and determination would prevail through the rain... Still difficult to climb that hill... But my will is too great to stay still...

When all the dust settles and all the smoke clears... I will emerge back on top higher than I have been in the past years...For I have faith in myself and that's all one needs... To live in this world where it's difficult to succeed...

So when you feel like there's no hope and want to give up... Fight with your heart, mind, and soul and I guarantee You'll also reach the top...

Viral URL Review - List Builder/Safelist

So you have finally stepped into the world of making money online. You too, like the others, have decided to start with the affiliate programs. Also, you must have heard that it’s not a big deal to make good money with affiliate marketing, provided you choose the right programs and do some strategic planning while promoting your affiliate products. So far so good.

Whether you are promoting other people’s products or promoting your own products - that doesn’t matter because after all it is nothing but your own business and your means to earn good money. So whichever be your case, I am sure you would not want to leave money on the table and invite others to steal your share of profit.

Even though the industry of affiliate marketing is pretty competitive but if you are cautious and are strategic in your marketing techniques then, it could be very profitable for you.

Take a close look at the industry, you will see that not every one who gets into affiliate marketing is successful. People who are doing well leave no room for failure and take all security measures and understand its importance.

Yes! Security is one of the key factors in affiliate marketing. If you do not adopt proper security measures, then your business will be at high risk. One of the most important way to restore security is to protect your affiliate links. Do not take them for granted. A bit of carelessness on your part in regards to affiliate links may cost you a lot of dollars.

Do you know the long complicated links that you send to your prospective customers not only look convoluted but they can create a lot of problems too! If you send such an affiliate link to your customers, then the smart ones will definitely figure out that you are promoting someone else’s product and they would rather visit the parent company. Also, if your link does not function then your customers have to type a really long URL into the browser, which will definitely put him or her off.

You could be a victim of even a worse situation. What if some devious Internet pirates steal your affiliate links and replace them with theirs. If they do that, then you get no commission at all.

Did I scare you off with all of the above possibilities? Well, that certainly wasn’t my intention. I just wanted to open your eyes and state facts that actually happen in the world of Internet. It happened with me until I came across ViralURL , that brought a revolution to my online ventures.

So, if you are not getting the desired results out of your affiliate marketing, don’t lose hope. There’s definitely a remedy to this problem and that is
ViralURL.com
Do I hear you asking, what is it and how can it help in averting any adverse situation for an affiliate marketer like me?Be patient and read on, if you love your business.

ViralURL is a link cloaker that protects you in the truest sense. There may be many unethical people lurking around, who might play with your affiliate links by cutting them off or replacing them with their own etc. How much effort you put in towards building your business and advertising your business, if your links are tampered with, then all your hard work will be rendered useless.
In order to avoid such a rip off, ViralURL gives you full protection and sees to it that your affiliate links never get exposed to others.

So save yourself from getting ripped. Get all the commissions to your account that you rightfully deserve. All this is made possible by
ViralURL.com

It is a blessing for every affiliate marketer like you and me, who wants to achieve success in their endeavor.

Is ViralURL limited to only link protection?

NO!

It does much much more than that. Let’s see what ViralURL can do for us:
*ViralURL helps us in protecting commission.*ViralURL helps in building mailing lists.*ViralURL helps in tracking statistics.*ViralURL helps in earning extra ad credits.

New Lead Capture Page producing Excellent Results

New Lead Capture Page producing Excellent Results

It is no secret that over the past several months it has become harder and harder to capture potential customers names and valid email addresses. I have seen statistics that say the numbers have decreased as much as 64% over the past 23 months.

So what is the answer to this dilemma?

Many marketers that I have talked to feel that well known prolific marketer Dale Calvert has come up with the solution. The website is located at: Dale Calvert

Dale's answer seems simple. If you give visitors something of true value and mail it to them via the postal service they MUST GIVE YOU CORRECT DATA to receive their package. It makes sense to me, what about you?

Mr. Calvert will send out an unlimited number of Robert Kiyosaki DVD's to your potential customers that visit your site.

This is NOT a digital download, this is a physical DVD sent through postal mail on your behalf to your potential customers and clients from the best selling author of the Rich Dad / Poor Dad series.

Mr. Calvert's organization will mail an unlimited amount of Free CD's on your behalf every month. 1 or 1,000, I know it sounds too good to be true, but you can get all the details right here: Dale Calvert

I think the Calvert Marketing Group has hit a grand slam homerun with this new program. Initial reports indicate many top marketers are using this system and potential customers are responding to the Free CD offer.

Are You Still Getting the Pyramid Objection…

If MLM has had a bad reputation in your country, the biggest problem is people mistake pyramid schemes and scams for MLM because of the structure of the pay plan.

MLM is actually the most ethical way of doing business because it gives everyone the same chance to succeed as the next guy, everyone starts the same as everybody else, the difference between success and failure is taking action, determination and effort.

The below information came from MLM Leader and trainer Tim Sale's web site, I am including a link to sign up for his free training, it will help you.

DO NOT LISTEN TO NEGATIVE PEOPLE, LAUGH AT THEM ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK!

If You’re Still Getting the Pyramid Objection…

Last week I sent a survey out and one of the questions was, “In presenting MLM, what two objections do you most often get?”

Your answers have been very informative. They tell me so much about what’s going on in your business. One of the main objections most are still getting is the “pyramid” objection.

Even though I’ve handled this objection before in the newsletter, I want to handle it again in a different way in the article below.

Here’s an incredibly brilliant MLM training tip that teaches you how to explain MLM without raising any red flags in the prospect’s mind.

On the MLM training conference call next week, I will walk you through the specific steps of what you say and what you do with prospects to overcome the pyramid objection, but I want to give you the basics here of another way to explain MLM.

To start with, if you’re doing a one-on-one where you’re actually with the prospect as opposed to talking with them over the phone, then you will want to draw for them what I’m going to show you here. If you’re on the phone, start by sending them Brilliant Compensation Online and then have this discussion with them over the phone while asking them to draw it while you walk them through it.

When/if the pyramid objection comes up, ask them to think about a typical business where there is a sales rep and a sales manager. Draw the picture below showing ONLY one sales manager (the man in blue) with sales reps working for him. Make sure you make the statement, “The manager is only valuable to the sales reps if they have experience selling what they’re asking the sales reps to sell.” Then ask, “Does this make sense to you?” Or “Do you agree with this?” It’s very important to get them involved in this discussion.

Once they are involved with the discussion, I normally probe a little with “Does the sales manager normally make a little more money than the sales reps?” Which most people will answer “yes”. I then ask, “Is what I’ve just drawn a pyramid because sales reps work under a sales manager? Is it a pyramid because the sales manager makes a commission off what the sales reps sell? “This is where the discussion normally opens up.

Try to keep them on just answering what has been discussed up to this point. Meaning, if they try to take it further and ask or say something else, reply with, “We’ll get to that… right now just tell me if this is a pyramid.” After that is settled, then move on.

Ask them, “What happens when there are more sales reps than the manager can handle?” What you’re facilitating them to answer is, “The company needs to hire another sales manager.” Then you can say, “Good! Where can the company get this new sales manager from?” You are trying to guide the prospect to see that either the company can hire a new person from Monster(dot)com (or wherever) or they can take one of the existing sales reps and make them a manager.

Guide them towards seeing that the better way would be to take an existing sales rep and make them a manager because they are already knowledgeable on how to sell that product. If they were to hire a new person they would have to educate that person on the products and the way the company operates. But, that new person wouldn’t have the respect of the sales force because “He’s never done it!“

But if they take an existing sales rep and make them a manager - they would know the product, know the way the business and company operates and would have the respect of the sales reps. But regardless of which place the company chooses to get this new manager, you’ve now added a new manager. Now draw another manager (beside and to the right of the man in blue) with sales reps below her.

Then ask, “This is the way that most companies grow their sales force. Does this make sense?” Get their agreement.

Then label the top of the picture “Multi-Width-Marketing.” Then say, “Multi means more than one. Width means that it grows laterally and marketing means that they are all marketing the product. Make sense? Any questions on this?”

Once all of this is settled in their mind - then move forward. DO NOT MOVE FORWARD UNTIL THEY UNDERSTAND UP TO THIS POINT. There can not be any confusion AT ALL.

Then say, “Let’s just take the same picture and draw it a little differently”. Circle the man in blue and his sales reps and say, “I’m going to draw this sales manager again.” Draw it on your paper. Then say, “Instead of hiring a new manager from Monster(dot)com we’re going to take a person who already knows the product, the company and the business and make them our new sales manager. Since it will be one of these sales reps, I’m just going to keep the drawing the same by drawing a new sales rep under them.”

You don’t need to draw 3 levels to make the point. So just draw two levels to begin with. Then, label level 1 and level 2. Then write at the top “Multi-level Marketing and say, “Multi meaning more than one, level meaning growing vertically and marketing meaning that everyone is marketing the product.”

This should give you the basics of how to handle this objection once and for all.
